POLO – VK – ECOREM design master plan for Vietnamese university campuses
In December 2015, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) approved a PPTA (project preparatory technical assistance) for supporting the Vietnamese government in achieving its healthcare objectives. These objectives are part of the 2nd Health Human Resources Development Project (SHHDRP). That plan should help Vietnam to roll out a nationwide health insurance system and to meet its global healthcare objectives.
In January 2016, the Vietnamese Ministry of Health asked ADB to include the design and construction of the Hanoi Medical University (HMU) and Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy (HCMCUMP) university campuses in this programme. Both campuses will operate as centres of excellence providing training for healthcare professionals for the entire country.
POLO – VK – ECOREM consortium, a winning combination
In August 2017, POLO Architects, VK Architects & Engineers and ECOREM decided to file a joint application for the first phase, the master plan. After an administrative procedure in September, 5 consortia were selected. In the final quotation phase (late 2017), the Belgian consortium stood out because of its detailed high-quality approach. On 8 January 2018, ADB gave the consortium the highest marks.
